The time is finally here. After UFC 162’s epic weigh-in ‘kiss’ between former UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, they get to stare across from each other in the last pre-fight step before the fight.
The stare down for the main event lived up to some expectations as Silva stood on the right side for the first time since his second fight in the UFC, a title fight opposite Rich Franklin. Silva uncharacteristically put his hands up to Weidman who didn’t seem even slightly moved by Silva’s intensity.
Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate got one more look at one another outside of the Octagon as well. Both women came in on weight and set the stage for a highly anticipated women’s title fight.
Most every fighter made weight with several having to take off their fight shorts or jeans but all but one hitting the mark on their second attempt. The one who didn’t was featherweight fighter Diego Brandao weighed in at 153-pounds on the second attempt. He will be forced to forfeit 25 percent of his purse.
