Miesha Tate Reveals Why She Dislikes Ronda Rousey

Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey’s feud has escalated to near-legendary proportions. It’s one that’s grown so out of control that it threatens to overshadow the actual fight itself.

While a lot of it seems awfully petty, Tate has revealed that her dislike of Rousey goes much deeper than a simple rivalry. In actuality, Tate feels that Rousey has been pampered by the UFC, while many WMMA fighters still fight “for breadcrumbs.”

“Every single woman that fights MMA has done just as much work as Ronda has, we just haven’t gotten as much turnaround,” Tate told FOX Sports. “Those women who came before her haven’t been on magazine covers, they weren’t plastered everywhere by the UFC. They didn’t get the same reward back. She got 10 times back what she was putting in and maybe everyone else was getting 1 to 1.”

“I know what it was like to be fighting for breadcrumbs and not to be taken seriously,” she added. “I didn’t just jump into this. It’s no disrespect to Ronda, she’s a great athlete. But there’s another side to the story that people aren’t seeing. Girls didn’t get the same things Ronda has gotten.”

“She runs her mouth. She’s very loud, very boisterous, very opinionated. Love her or hate her, you take notice of her. I think that’s the biggest thing. She’s different than most of the girls who fight in MMA.”

“A lot of fans out there have the WWE mentality,” Tate concluded. “Those are the fans that fell hook line and sinker and loved her. She was that controversial one, that shit talker, she started drama.”

As much as I love Misha Tate, I can’t get behind her on these comments. Ronda has gotten all the attention in the UFC not just because of her attitude but because she’s highly competitive and was hungry for a spot in the UFC coming out of Strikeforce. As many times-over as it has been said, Ronda made History in MMA, and now because of her, women’s MMA is being taken more seriously. Ronda has opened the door for female fighters to get those interviews with ESPN and FOX Sports and we will eventually see more divisions for females in the UFC because of her. Misha needs to stop with these complants and appriciate her spot in the sport because i’m sure many of those women who Misha says are “fighting for breadcrumbs” in the UFC are just grateful to be fighting in the UFC. Each female fighter’s time will come to have their fame and recognition in the UFC. This is just the beginning!
