Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate aren’t friends by any stretch of the imagination, but the women’s bantamweight champ can at least admit that Tate has one significant asset. Definitely not considered “junk” in the trunk by most casual observers. Miesha has a beautiful and exotic feminine physic that leaves many in awe at the sight. Yet it would seem that perhaps that is what Ronda fears most. According to her latest comments,
“Miesha has a nice ass and she has an ongoing rivalry with me and that’s the only reason she was picked for this fight,” Rousey said in an interview on CBS Sports Radio.
“The rivalry is why she is even around. It’s not because of her athletic merit. She really has to play that part of it up (rivalry) because that’s all she really has. She has to make it personal because you can’t make it an athletic rivalry because there really is no comparison. I’m an Olympic athlete and she’s a high school wrestler.”
Those are some harsh words, especially considering how hard today’s WMMA athletes are working to avoid becoming a sexualized sideshow.
Still, it’s not hard to see why Rousey is pointing towards Tate’s rear end as a major selling point (via Fight! Magazine).
While this is neither a beauty or popularity contest, the side show attraction of drama that these spiteful comments bring to the event certainly do spice things up for the audience.
Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate will finally put words aside and throw down in the octagon this Saturday at UFC 168.
