Anthony “Showtime” Pettis has been on a tear recently, defeating three of the UFC’s best lightweights in a row en route to besting Benson Henderson for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
Over the holidays, he’s taking some much needed time off… and he’s got himself a shiny new gift to help blow off some steam.
According to a new post on Instagram, Pettis has purchased a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a luxury SUV that runs over $100,000 for just the base model.
“Grew up in these streets, know what it feels like to be broke! Had to treat myself, hard work pays off. I’m jus starting!!! #wakingupliketherentisdue #G55AMG#motivated #humble”
Despite the price tag, it’s hard to argue that Pettis doesn’t deserve it. In his six year career, Showtime has won three world titles and has claimed the UFC or WEC’s “Of the Night” bonus five times.
Of his 17 wins, the 26-year old fighter has finished 12 of his opponents; an impressive feat considering the high level of competition he’s been facing lately.
Pettis is currently out of competition due to a knee injury, but is hopeful of a return sometime in 2014.
