The first semi-final bout of the GLORY 13 welterweight tournament matched Nieky Holzken (82-11) against Karapet Karapetyan (42-8-2).

The winner of this bout would go on to face the winner of the other semi-final bout between Joseph Valtellini and Raymond Daniels.

Round 1: Both men are calculated to start. Holzken is able to knock Karapetyan down with a hook. Karapetyan gets to his feet though. Karapetyan moves and survives a round that Holzken looked to finish several times. Holzken was incredibly offensive in this round and rarely stopped throwing shots to the body along with that deadly uppercut.

Round 2: Karapetyan tries to even the fight up as he comes out swinging in the second round. He is dropped for his efforts however by another left hook. Holzken has slowed a bit in this round after such a successful first round. Karapetyan advances through a barrage of strikes. Holzken is able to land a nice kick at the end of the round.

Round 3: Karapetyan comes out in the third like a maniac. Looking to stop Holzken to make up for a bad start. Both men go back and forth until the round concludes. Holzken holds his ground and uses range well to keep Karapetyan at bay.

Official Result: Holzken defeats Karapetyan via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 29-26)
