Despite officially turning down Chael Sonnen’s offer to coach on the upcoming season of TUF: Brazil, Anderson Silva may end up appearing on the show anyways.
Sonnen originally offered to make Silva an assistant coach on his team against Wanderlei Silva. On a recent press conference call, Silva declined the proposal saying, “unfortunately I’m not going to be in Brazil and not going to be able to help.”
However, Silva’s manager Jorge Guimaraes is telling a different story. According to Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight, Guimaraes stated that Silva will be making every effort to schedule in some time to make a guest appearance.
In fact, the timing might work out really well for the former middleweight champ. He’s reportedly planning on taking a month off to spend time with his family following his UFC 168 title fight, and may be in the region to pop in for some assistant coaching.
If Silva does end up making an appearance on the show, that could be big news for Chael Sonnen’s team. One has to wonder though how Wanderlei Silva feels about this, especially considering Sonnen’s harsh words in the past regarding Brazilian fighters.
