Now that Georges St-Pierre has taken a hiatus from mixed martial arts, Ronda Rousey has made her way onto the UFC’s official top ten pound-for-pound rankings.
For Rousey, being #10 isn’t enough. During a recent conference call, the women’s bantamweight champ said she was surprised they put her on the list before her fight with fellow TUF coach Miesha Tate. But she hopes that her ranking will move up after she beats Tate at the end of this month.
“It’ll be nice to see if it changes at all after this fight and I move up on it even more,” she said.
Edging Rousey at number nine on the list is former champ Benson Henderson. If Rousey plans to move up in the rankings, Henderson would be the first person to be put behind her.
Rousey is currently scheduled to take on Miesha Tate at the co-main event of UFC 168. The event takes place on December 28th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
