Reports have confirmed that Andy Souwer has withdrawn from his December 28th K-1 World MAX 2013 Quarter Final bout against German opponent Enriko Kehl due to injuries. K-1 Global received word from Souwer’s camp that the thirty-one year old Dutchman got appendicitis and had to be taken to the hospital to undergo surgery.
The organization confirmed that Kehl has also withdrawn from their bout due to lingering injuries from a previous fight. Fortunately, his injuries are expected to heal quickly and he’ll fight someone on January 11th.
As of yet, offiicials have not announced who Kehl’s next opponent will be. It’s also unclear if they will schedule a bout between Kehl and Souwer for the future.
