According to TMZ, Manny Pacquiao owes the United States government $18 million in federal income taxes.
The infamous entertainment-news website claims the Philippine boxing legend didn’t pay taxes from 2006 to 2010.
Here are the precise figures directly from TMZ:
2006 — $1,160,324.30
2007 — $2,035,992.50
2008 — $2,862,437.11
2009 — $8,022,915.87
2010 — $4,231,999.01
During those years, Pacquiao fought some of the biggest names in boxing, including: Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and many more. There’s no doubt that he must have made a substantial amount of money from those fights, but TMZ doesn’t exactly have the best reputation for reporting accurate facts.
The news website claims that the famous boxer owes a staggering $50 million dollars to the Philippine government as well.
If these reports are true, Pacquiao could be in some serious trouble.
