Upon the UFC’s return to London at the O2 Arena, two exciting bouts will showcase four talented fighters. The UFC tweeted out official news confirming a flyweight bout between Brad Pickett (23-6) and Ian McCall (12-4-1) and a welterweight bout between Gunnar Nelson (11-0-1) and Omari Akhmedov (12-1).
Pickett comes back from a submission loss to former number one bantamweight contender Michael McDonald on the UFC’s premiere show on FOX Sports 1 back in August.
McCall gets his next bout after withdrawing from the UFC on FOX 9 show with injury. He now returns to welcome Brad Pickett to flyweight.
For Gunnar Nelson, a car accident threatened the prospects he alth but he was left uninjured and now has a highly-anticipated return date set. Nelson hasn’t fought since February, having pulled out of a scheduled bout with Mike Pyle at UFC 160.
His opponent, Akhmedov won his UFC debut against Thiago Perpétuo at UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson. He won that fight with a first round knockout.
UFC Fight Night 37 takes place on March 8th at the O2 Arena in London, England. It is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa.
