It’s no secret that Conor McGregor (14-2) isn’t a fan of Diego Sanchez (24-6). In an appearance on The MMA Hour, the young Irish fighter candidly shared his thoughts on Sanchez’s standing as mixed martial artist.

“The guy is a has-been. He should be in Bellator with the rest of the has-beens. There’s no doubt about it.”

Even before that, the two had frequently exchanged verbal assaults against one another via Twitter, making their feud an intriguing topic for many mixed martial arts news outlets. Thirty-one year old Diego Sanchez has fought in the UFC since 2005 and has won thirteen of his nineteen fights. McGregor just recently signed with the promotion less than a year ago and has only fought twice since then.

Despite McGregor being a featherweight and Sanchez being a lightweight, “Notorious” vowed that the two will meet in the octagon soon.

“I want the motherfucker (Sanchez) to come at me and throw down. I want Mark Hunt vs. ‘Bigfoot’ Silva shit. That’s what I fucking want. And you best believe that Diego Sanchez fight will happen. I’m going to make it fucking happen. Whether it be the next fight, I guarantee you I am going to whoop him. I’m going to school him in evasive combat. You can mark my motherfucking words.”

As promising as that sounds, it’s not likely that a fight between the two will happen anytime in the near future. McGregor is currently recovering from a torn ACL injury which will keep him sidelined well into next year.
