Tickets for the Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale went on sale October 11th for an event that was expected to be headlined with a flyweight title fight between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson. The bout was pulled to headline UFC on FOX 9 when Anthony Pettis was forced out of that event’s main event due to injury.
Instead, Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz settled their rivalry in a rubber match in which Diaz stopped Maynard early in the first round.
The TUF 18 Finale did pull in unexpectedly high TV ratings with 1,129,000 viewers.
The numbers were released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday.
The official live gate for the event was $322,742.50 while the attendance total was 4,853. These numbers are down from the TUF 17 finale which drew $569,000 with attendance of 5,549.
The event had a total of 1,346 unsold tickets with 1,697 tickets being comped.
Both events took place at the Mandalay bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The TUF 17 finale was headlined by a bantamweight between urijah Faber and Scott Jorgenson.
