A recent report by Sherdog has confirmed that UFC veteran Ulysses Gomez (9-4) was taken to the hospital after he collapsed while attempting to cut weight for his fight against Neil Seery (13-9).

Gomez was originally scheduled to do battle against Seery on December 7th at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 62, but apparently, he had some trouble making 125 pounds. CWFC confirmed the news on Friday when they announced that Gomez was rushed to a hospital in Newcastle, England, after he collapsed from exhaustion. As a result, the English MMA promotion scrapped his bout against Seery and went ahead with their show without featuring either of the two fighters.

Gomez was riding a two-fight losing streak to John Moraga and Phil Harris before being cut from the UFC earlier this year. Seery, on the other hand, is currently on a four-fight winning streak.

CWFC also confirmed that Gomez recovered from his collapse.
