Very few people expected UFC Fight Night 33’s main event between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva to go the distance, but the two mixed martial arts veterans surprised everyone by doing battle for five grueling rounds, in what turned out to be one of the best fights in UFC history. The bout ended with a well-deserved draw, as neither fighter was able to maintain a significant advantage over the other.
After the bout, both fighters were taken to the hospital, and it was revealed that “The Super Samoan” had broken his hand in two places after battering it against “BigFoot’s” head for twenty-five minutes. He posted pictures of his injury on Facebook for all his fans to observe.
Even UFC President Dana White tweeted his admiration for Hunt and Silva following the news of the former K-1 and Pride superstar’s injury:

Neither Hunt nor UFC officials have announced how long it will take his hand to fully heal. Many fans are already calling for a rematch between Hunt and Silva, but the UFC hasn’t made any official announcements if that will actually occur.
