‘Alpha’ Cat Zingano was poised to finish off 2013 with a title fight against Ronda Rousey as they concluded their duties coaching opposing teams on The Ultimate Fighter 18. Instead, a blown out knee sidelined Zingano after she defeated Meisha Tate.
She spent the end of 2012 out getting injured after her April bout as she prepared for The Ultimate Fighter
Fortunately, Zingano was able to reveal that she has been cleared to train jiu-jitsu (via her Facebook):
Got the news today! I am cleared to train BJJ again and can do light pad work! Two more injections by Dr. Fady Elias of Orthoregeneration.com and im good to start sparring again March 1st! Heck yeah!!!
She is expected to be given full clearance for light pad work on March 1st of next year.
Her return fight will likely be the title fight that was planned for this year. Her opponent would be the winner of the UFC 168 co-main event between Rousey and Tate as they rematch for the women’s bantamweight title.
