The World Series of Fighting held their first ever event north of the border in Canada tonight. The main event of the night was a featherweight fight to crown the first ever champion for the promotion.
Before the main card kicked off, the preliminary card came courtesy of a free online stream.
Mike Hill vs. Richard Arsenault
A fun fight ended in disappointing fashion in the second round as Arsenault injured his leg. He was sent limping around the cage until the referee called an end to the fight as Arsenault was clearly unable to take steps with his weight behind them.
Official Result: Hill defeats Arsenault via TKO (injury) at 1:29 of Round 2.
Matt Baker vs. David Perron
A quick fight brings the card its second finish. Perron was quick to lock in a triangle choke and tightened it up until Baker had no chance to tap, early in round 1.
Official Result: Perron defeats Baker via Submission (triangle-choke) at 1:46 of Round 1.
Shawn Albrecht vs. Gabriel Solorio
Another bout goes to decision on the preliminary card as Solorio edges Albrecht in a timid affair.
Official Result: Solorio defeats Albrecht via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Dan Ring vs. Myles Merola
The second bout of the evening slowed the pace of the night. It was a ground battle that was competitive yet clear-cut when determining a winner.
Official Result: Merola defeats Ring via Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27)
Micah Brakefield vs. Brendan Kornberger
The first fight of the night brought with it the first finish of the event.
Official Result: Kornberger defeats Brakefield via TKO (punches) at 2:45 of Round 2.
