UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey may have been a coach on the eighteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but that doesn’t mean she’s watched any of it.
During an interview with Ariel Helwani at the TUF 18 Finale, when asked what she thought of the way she was portrayed on show, Rousey’s answer was a bit unexpected.
“I still haven’t watched any of the episodes,” she responded.
Miesha Tate was sitting on the opposite side of Rousey during the entire interview, and Rousey didn’t look too happy to be in her presence.
“No, my achievements and my goals are my business and everyone’s feedback is not one of them,” Rousey added. “If you really want to get to know the real person, ya know, via a reality TV show … I mean that’s like saying we all know who the real Kim Kardashian is. For all I know, she’s a rocket scientist.”
The champ has received a slew of criticism since the airing of the show. Her behavior during filming seemed childish, mean, and self-centered. On the contrary, her counterpart Miesha Tate, has received very favorable feedback.
According to this interview, Rousey doesn’t seem to care. The twenty-six year old Judo Olympian has won all seven of her professional mixed martial arts fights in the first round via armbar, which includes a victory over her Tate.
The two will face off at UFC 168 on December 28th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
