Despite being told he would never fight again, Stefan Struve is in the midst of a remarkably rapid recovery. In August, the fighter was diagnosed with a leaking aortic valve and enlarged heart, serious medical conditions that put his ability to train on hold indefinitely.
Undeterred, Struve was adamant that he would be back in the octagon again someday. It seems his hard work so far has paid off, and he’s been cleared to return to full training.
“Finally back to a full training schedule, 8 sessions planned for this week,” he tweeted. “Looking forward to getting in Fighting shape again!”
While no return date has been set, Struve hinted at a 2014 comeback.
