Despite having lost his last two fights in a row to Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson, Nate Diaz’s confidence has not withered the slightest bit.

“I beat [Maynard], I’m going to hunt down Pettis and Thomson’s ass and take them out. I’ll be back fighting for a title real quick,” Diaz said according to Yahoo! Sports.

Diaz first fought Gray Maynard during the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter where he submitted him via guillotine choke. Later in 2010, Maynard upset Diaz in a rematch by edging him in a split decision. According to Diaz, he believes he won that fight as well.

“I’m going to beat Gray Maynard. It’s the third time fighting him. Finish it off and seal the deal. I won the first one. I think I won the second fight, too. You can ask him how he won the fight. I’ll bet you he don’t got too good of an answer,” he said.

Diaz will face Maynard for a third time this Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
