According to a press release from officials at Madison Square Garden, a match between former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Phillipe Nover will take place at the ‘Grapple at the Garden’ event on December 1st.
“After Attending Grapple at the Garden as a fan last year, it is an honor for me to now be able to compete at MSG,” Edgar said about the opportunity.
The Edgar/Nover match will serve as the co-main event of the evening.
Edgar isn’t the only notable MMA fighter to appear in the tournament, as David Branch, Waylon Lowe, Joe Warren and Muhammed Lawal will also compete in the day-long wrestling event.
Wrestling stand-outs Jesse Delgado, Nahshon Garrett, Kyle Dake and Bubba Jenkins will also appear at the event.
Madison Square Garden played host to a UFC press conference on November 21st, at which the UFC made a case for the legalization of MMA in New York. Just two days after that, GLORY kickboxing made itself at home at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Tickets start at $20.00 and are available online at thegarden.com/grapple.
