Ex-Manager Shari Spencer: GSP May Have 99 Problems, But I Ain’t One

Following his controversial split decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre announced that he needed to take a break from professional mixed martial arts due to issues in his personal life. GSP didn’t specify what those issues were, so as a result, there have been a flood of wild speculations since then.

Perhaps the most prominent rumors were the ones reported by TMZ Sports that the champion’s father was terminally ill and he had also accidentally impregnated a mystery woman. GSP’s sister, Myriam St-Pierre, has refuted the claims that her father is dying.

The most recent rumor to take center stage was one announced by a former manager of St-Pierre, Stephane Patry. During a recent interview with 98.5 FM Sports, Patry said the only personal issue GSP has in his life at the moment is a lawsuit by another one of his former managers, Shari Spencer.

Recently, Spencer took to Twitter to refute that claim.

However, contrary to Spencer’s tweet, TMZ has released another report that the ex-manager of the Canadian superstar is in fact suing her former client. Considering that TMZ ‘s last report proved to be false, this one may or may not be true, but the notorious news organization has apparently provided ‘proof’ of their latest claim.

Here’s the excerpt taken directly from TMZ.com:

The court docs show … the judge agreed with Shari and ordered GSP to cut a check for $737,066.35 — which the fighter paid back in April.

But there’s more … the judge also ordered GSP to pay Shari’s management company the following:

— 20% of future revenue on various UFC Pay-Per-View fights
— 20% of royalties earned under a 2008 UFC merchandising contract
— 5% of future revenues from sponsorships she apparently helped him earn (including Affliction and RUSHFit).

A source familiar with the case tells us … Shari’s final cut could be worth several million dollars.

GSP’s had a rough year — as we first reported, the UFC champ is already stressing out over his sick father and an unplanned pregnancy.

As you can see, TMZ is still going along with the rumor that GSP’s father is dying, even though it has already been debunked by Mryiam St-Pierre.

GSP himself has yet to comment on these reports.
