After his controversial split decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre hinted that he was leaning towards retirement in his post-fight comments with Joe Rogan. He cited personal issues as his reasons for retiring, but chose not to disclose what those personal issues were. This void has left room for tons of speculation, including reports by TMZ Sports that the longtime champion’s father is dying and he has also unwillingly impregnated a woman.
According to MMAMania.com, Myriam St-Pierre has told the Canadian news outlet known as Le Presse, that her father is not dying and those rumors are completely false.
Here is the excerpt of her statement from MMAMania.com:
“My father is doing very well. We get lots of calls and this rumor has to stop. It makes us pain. My father keeps my children. He would not keep them if he was about to die. I do not know where this rumor came from, but this is wrong.”
TMZ claimed that they obtained this information from a source who was close to the family.
Apparently, they weren’t that close.
