UFC 167 Ticket Sales Made It the Promotion’s Second Biggest MGM Grand Event

Despite a controversial ending, the UFC’s 20th anniversary show was a big success in terms of ticket sales.

The event drew a reported 14,856 fans for an estimated live gate of $5.7 million. This would make UFC 167 the second most profitable UFC event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, right behind UFC 148: Silva vs Sonnen II.

UFC 167 was headlined by a welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks. St-Pierre defended his title with a razor thin split decision, a verdict that has resulted in a veritable explosion of criticism from sources as varied as fans, analysts, and even UFC president Dana White.
