Recently, Nate Diaz took to Twitter to criticize UFC Lightweight Champ Anthony Pettis for pulling out of his bout against Josh Thomson.
Apparently, Pettis saw Diaz’s tweeting and responded with a comment of his own.
2 losses + lisssssp + best offense is your middle finger = can’t talk shit!!! #votepettis

After the tweet, it seemed that Pettis realized he had stooped to Diaz’s level by tweeting in a similar manner as he did. The champ sent another tweet in an attempt to retract his earlier manners, but still maintain his assault against Diaz.
I shouldn’t let people who talk trash get me out of character. #champ4areason

Diaz is currently scheduled to take on Gray Maynard for the third time on November 30th at the TUF 18 Finale, while Pettis will be undergoing knee surgery following a six month recovery period.
It’s not very likely that the two will meet in the octagon very soon. As the champ pointed out, Diaz is riding a two-fight losing streak.
