Bellator 108: Patricio Freire Wins Featherweight Tournament with TKO Over Justin Wilcox

The featherweight tournament finals will be decided at Bellator 108 as dangerous Brazilian striker Patricio Freire takes on American wrestler, Justin Wilcox. The winner will be set to face the new Bellator featherweight champion, Daniel Straus.

Two streaking fighters will clash to attain a shot at Bellator gold.

 

Featherweight tournament Final: Patricio Freire defeats Justin Wilcox via TKO (punches) at 2:23 of Round 1.

Freire came out the aggressor in this bout, landing on hard shots to Wilcox, some of which wobbled Wilcox. Freire was able to drop Wilcox but not finish him as the resumed the fight on the feet, to the delight of Freire. Wilcox simply didn’t seem to find his timing. Freire on the other hand countered precisely and dropped Wilcox several times in the round. Freire stayed aggressive and was able to pounce on Wilcox, drawing an end to the bout.

Patricio Freire wins the Season 9 Bellator featherweight tournament and now has a shot at the featherweight title.
