Jon Jones (19-1) has his first title defense of 2014. As reported on UFC Tonight, the most dominant champion in UFC light-heavyweight history will face Glover Teixeira (22-2) in the main event of UFC 170 on February 22.
The official UFC Tonight Twitter page posted the news late Wednesday night:
Jones is returning from an all-time classic against Alexander Gustafsson back in September. The two battle back and forth for five rounds in what many consider to be the fight of the year by far.
As for Teixeira, he puts his 20-fight win streak on the line against Jones. Teixeira is 5-0 in the UFC with his most recent win coming by 1st round knockout over Ryan Bader, three weeks before Jones’ successfully defended his title.
UFC 170 will take place on February 22nd at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
