UFC Women’s Bantam Weight Champ Ronda Rousey recently stated that there is a possibility of her beating heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez. Apparently, Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has a problem with this.
Cyborg responded to Rousey’s comments via Facebook:
“It’s amazing to me that Rhonda is talking about her beating Cain. Who’s a heavyweight man. But she won’t go to a weight where she has fought other fights at. And challenge the best female fighter in the world. Not being cocky. But But I believe that this Being one athlete at the top And many agree. Yet she will put cains name in her mouth, and not mine. She is a actress after all. Talking about a fantasy fight. When there’s a super fight right in front of her. Yet she talks about fantasy.”
Although Cyborg only has one fight left on her Invicta FC contract, it is unlikely that her and Rousey will ever meet inside the octagon. Rousey has stated multiple times that if Cyborg wants to fight her, she will have to drop to 135. Cyborg has responded by saying that dropping to 135 is impossible for her, so Rousey should move up to 145 since she fought there before.
It seems like these ladies will never settle their dispute inside the octagon, so it looks like their bitter war of words is likely to continue.
