Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante is the hometown-favorite against Igor Pokrajac.

Pokrajac backed Cavalcante up against the fence early in the first round. Just like that Cavalcante nailed him with a series of knees to the mid-section, bringing Pokrajac to his knees, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Pokrajac tried to hold on, but after the eighth knee he fell and Cavalcante finished him with a few right hands.

Cavalcante knocked out Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal to win the Strikeforce light heavyweight championship, but then lost the belt to Dan Henderson, by knockout. He was knocked out in his UFC debut against Thiago Silva.

The end for Pokrajac came at 1:19 of the first round.

After the Cavalcante official decision, the cameras showed Brazilian fighters Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the audience.
