Following UFC 166, it was reported that the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation issued a six month medical suspension to UFC Heavyweight Champ Cain Velasquez for a possible broken jaw. The Velasquez camp denied any reports of a broken jaw and said that the champ was fine.

As it turns out, the Velasquez camp was telling the truth. It has recently been confirmed that the commission has retracted their six month medical suspension and admitted they made a mistake.

The commission issued a statement that read, “After review of the UFC 166 information it has been determined the Velasquez/dos Santos suspensions were posted incorrectly.”

The Velasquez camp has since stated that the champ’s jaw is fine and he only received a fifteen day suspension for precautionary reasons.

As for Junior Dos Santos, he is still under an indefinite medical suspension until he gets cleared by a doctor.
