Despite being recently knocked out by Chris Weidman, many believe Anderson Silva is still the best fighter on the planet. Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, is one of those people.

“I believe Anderson Silva is the best fighter on the planet, period. I think you could put Anderson Silva against any fighter in any weight class, but I believe he has a bigger danger to any fighter he faces than any fighter has towards him,” Soares said confidently.

Anderson Silva is scheduled to rematch Weidman on December 28th at UFC 168. If Silva is victorious, we could possibly see a superfight between him and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones in the near future.

When Soares says he believes that Silva poses more of a danger to any fighter than that fighter poses to him, he’s including Jon Jones.

“I do think Anderson can beat Jon Jones, not taking anything away from Jon Jones. Incredible athlete, but he doesn’t have the experience, and I think that a well-trained Anderson Silva would beat Jon Jones.”

Soares is definitely right about one thing: Silva has a lot more experience than Jones. Silva is twelve years Jones’s senior and has a staggering eighteen more fights than Jones does. That’s practically an entire career worth of fights. Whether Silva would beat Jones in a fight is still questionable.

Who would you put your money on if this superfight were to happen?
