In a recent interview, Adlan “Borz” Amagov said he’ll fight anyone the UFC puts in front of him, but he’s asking for either Martin Kampmann or Jake Shields.
“It all depends what UFC has planned for me, but I would like to fight in New Jersey on Feb. 1,” Amagov told MMAjunkie.com. “I have a lot of fans in the area who would love to come support me. I’ll face whoever UFC wants to put in front of me, but I’d like to fight Martin Kampmann or Jake Shields.”
The 26 year-old Russian wrecking machine has won his last 3 fights in a row and has a total professional mixed martial arts record of 13 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. His most recent bout was against fellow UFC welterweight T.J. Waldburger, whom he knocked out in just 3 minutes of the opening frame.
Kampmann and Shields are both widely regarded as being among the top 10 welterweight fighters in the world. The 31 year-old Danish Kampmann is currently on a 2-fight losing streak suffering back to back knockout losses against Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit. However, Shields has been on a tear lately, having most recently defeated submission specialist Demian Maia by a unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 29. Either one would make an interesting fight against the up and coming Amagov. It just depends on whether the UFC will actually make it happen.
