30 year-old Scottish featherweight MMA fighter Robert Whiteford (10-1) will make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester, England, on October 26th, facing off against the 26 year-old American Jimy Hettes (10-1). Whiteford has accepted the fight on short notice.
The main event features middleweights Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz (13-3) and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida (19-4).
Coming into this fight, Whiteford is on a 10 fight winning streak, 5 of which he obtained by knockout. Hettes is coming off the first loss of his career which he lost by unanimous decision at the hands of Marcus Brimage at UFC 152 of September last year. Of his 10 wins, 9 were achieved via submission.
Looks like this fight is going to be the classic battle between a striker and a submission specialist.
