Saturday’s UFC 166 event was a big success for the promotion, drawing 17,238 spectators and a $2.5 million live gate.

According to UFC president Dana White, this made UFC 166 the third highest grossing event in the Toyota Center’s history. It falls just below the Rolling Stones and UFC 69, which was headlined by a bout between Georges St-Pierre and Matt Serra.

UFC 166 featured a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos, as well as a lightweight bout between Diego Sanchez and Gilbert Melendez, which commentator Joe Rogan called the “best fight he’s ever seen.”
