In addition to his lifetime ban from the UFC, Rousimar Palhares has now been suspended by Brazil’s athletic commission for ignoring the referee and holding a heel hook at UFC Fight Night 29.

The verdict was handed down by the Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA), which has suspended Palhares for 120 days. This period of time will begin once the fighter’s routine medical suspension ends.

“The determination of the period of suspension considers, among other things, the athlete’s recurrence of unsportsmanlike conduct of the same nature,” CABMMA wrote in a statement.

Palhares was suspended once before, for 90 days, after his fight with Tomas Drwal in 2010.
