The UFC Fight Night 29 bonuses have officially been announced, with T.J. Dillashaw, Raphael Assuncao, and Dong Hyun Kim each walking away with a $50,000 paycheck.
Dillashaw and Assuncao’s back and forth battle earned them the Fight of the Night, with Assuncao narrowly taking home the split decision victory.
Kim meanwhile landed a picture perfect left hand that knocked Erick Silva out cold, earning “The Stun Gun” the Knockout of the Night bonus.
Rousimar Palhares’s slick heel hook submission was obviously the Submission of the Night. However, the UFC decided not to award the bonus, as they investigate whether or not Palhares held the submission for too long. It seemed like he may have initially ignored the referee’s attempt to stop the fight, and if so, that would be a significant instance of unsportsmanlike conduct.
UFC and commission officials will review the footage and render a verdict soon. UFC president Dana White has commented that additional repercussions for Palhares’s conduct would likely be incoming.
