Another lightweight bout has been added to the UFC on FOX 9 card. UFC officials have confirmed that Cody McKenzie will be making his return to the weight class to meet Sam Stout at the December event.

McKenzie, a TUF 12 vet, rebounded from a 31-second TKO loss in his featherweight debut with a win over Leonard Garcia at UFC 159. He is best known for his signature guillotine choke, which he has successfully used in 11 of his 14 wins. He is currently 3-3 in the UFC, and 14-3 overall.

Stout was last defeated by James Krause at UFC 161, submitting in the last 13 seconds of the fight. It has been more than two years since Stout has picked up back to back wins, and the 19-9-1 fighter will be looking to get a streak started with a win over McKenzie.

UFC on FOX 9 will take place on December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. It will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson.

The current card is as follows:

• Anthony Pettis vs. Josh Thomson
• Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald
• Matt Brown vs. Carlos Condit
• Nik Lentz vs. Chad Mendes
• Mac Danzig vs. Joe Lauzon
• Scott Jorgensen vs. Ian McCall
• Edson Barboza vs. Danny Castillo
