Roommates Louis Fisette and David Grant lay in their beds discussing their journey to TUF and admit that not having a job has resulted in more time to train. The two face off this week with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

Grant confesses to being homesick and anxious to see his family. He says that without his wife, life would have been much different. “She was the one who wanted me to follow my dream and I can’t thank her enough for that. To get the chance to actually follow your dream, there’s not many people doing that,” Grant says.

Fisette discusses strategy with Team Tate and plans to put pressure on Grant because he doesn’t believe Grant wants to stand and trade punches. “This fight and this show means everything to me, you know. I’ve lost my job for this opportunity. I’ve put everything into this and I’m looking to make something come out of it. That fight’s mine.” Fisette said.

Before their training session, Ronda Rousey introduces the team to her mother. Ann Maria DeMars motivates Team Rousey by sharing words of wisdom. Rousey says that one of her mom’s most inspirational lines is “You’re not training to be the best in the world, you’re training to be the best in the world on your worst day.”

This week’s fight is set to begin. Fisette follows through on his aggressive game plan, but Grant counters and pins him against the cage. Grant catches Fisette’s high knee attempt and slams him to the mat. Trying to get into a full-guard position, he hammers Fisette with lefts and nearly lands an arm bar. Grant handily wins the first round.

As the second round begins, Miesha Tate leaves Fisette’s corner by saying “Let’s see your heart right now, ok. Five more minutes.” An exhausted Fisette forces Grant to the cage and is once again body slammed. Grant gets high mount and clutches to Fisette’s back where he locks in a rear-naked choke. Team Rousey has their second straight victory.

A teary eyed Fisette arrives in Team Tate’s locker room and receives consolation from his teammates. “He went out there and fought his heart out. Unfortunately he lost, he got caught in a submission, but he lost like a man and he should be proud of that,” Tate said.

Rousey announces that next week’s fight will have Jessamyn Duke facing Raquel Pennington.
