Jon Jones might have Nike, but UFC welterweight title challenger Johny Hendricks just grabbed a huge sponsorship deal with Reebok.
The apparel company has sponsored Hendricks ahead of his title fight at UFC 167 against Georges St-Pierre. They previously sponsored Hendricks, as well as UFC lightweight Jamie Varner, during their attempt at the Spartan Race obstacle course.
“I am very excited to extend our relationship with Reebok,” Hendricks’ agent Oren Hodak said in a statement. “After our meetings at the Reebok corporate headquarters in Boston, I was confident that a long-term deal was soon to follow. We look forward to providing Reebok with an incredible amount of exposure just as we have done with so many other great sponsors.”
Reebok has also extended a deal to Bellator fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who recently appeared in a commercial for the company.
Johny Hendricks will face GSP at UFC 167 on November 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fact that Reebok sponsored him before this crucial moment in his career says a lot about the company’s confidence in the fighter.
