Lion Fight, one of the world’s top kickboxing organizations, has revealed the introduction of a welterweight division, as well as the main and co-main events for their 12th event.
The news was announced by CEO Scott Kent, who stated that two international Muay Thai title holders, Malaipet Sasiprapa and Fabio Pinca, will face off in Lion Fight’s first ever welterweight championship bout.
Sasiprapa is the WBC welterweight international Muay Thai champion, as well as a former Rajadamnern Stadium champion and Lumpinee Stadium champion. He currently holds a staggering 143-27 record, with 53 KOs.
Pinca has accrued an 89-21 record, and is the current WBC Muay Thai world champion. He also holds the distinctions of being the 2012 WBC World Muay Thai Welterweight Champion, 2010 Isuzu Thai Fight Tournament Champion and 2009 WBC World Muay Thai Super Lightweight Champion.
In the co-main event, Lion Fight women’s featherweight champion Tiffany Van Soest will defend her title against Magali Foroni.
Van Soest is undefeated in her eight fight career, and trains with the Blackhouse team.
Foroni meanwhile is 12-1 overall, and was the 2012 French Muay Thai Champion.
Lion Fight 12 will take place on November 1 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
