When Lyoto Machida was revealed to be replacing Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 30, Tim Kennedy lost his opponent for Fight for the Troops 3. Luckily, Rafael Natal has stepped in to face Kennedy at the November show, allowing the main event to proceed as planned.
Natal has won five of his last six in the UFC, bringing his record to 17-4-1. A jiu-jitsu specialist, Natal might not have as many high profile wins as his upcoming opponent, but his eight submission victories should speak for themselves.
Kennedy meanwhile is coming off of back to back wins against Trevor Smith and Roger Gracie, and seems poised to break into the UFC’s middleweight top 10. He is currently 16-4, and 1-0 in the octagon since the Strikeforce acquisition.
UFC Fight for the Troops 3 will take place on November 6 at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.
