Cris Cyborg Retracts Her Ronda Rousey Comment: She’s ‘Dramatic’, Not ‘Mentally Sick’

Earlier this week, #2 ranked pound-for-pound WMMA fighter Cris “Cyborg” Justino made headlines when she said that UFC champ Ronda Rousey is “mentally sick.” She went on to elaborate that she gives the edge to Miesha Tate in their rematch, because Tate is a more “focused” fighter.

It seems Cyborg feels she was misunderstood though, and has taken to twitter to clarify her earlier statements.

“I would like to clarify the statement I made about Ronda was to express I feel she is dramatic on TUF 18, not mentally sick,” she wrote in a tweet.

Cyborg did not state whether it was a translation error, or she just made a poor choice of words during the interview.

Either way, it does certainly seem like Rousey is the more dramatic coach on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. We’ll have to wait and see though if that mental attitude affects her fighting ability at all when she defends her title against Miesha Tate at UFC 168 in December.
