Danny Castillo vs Edson Barboza Set for UFC on FOX 9

UFC officials have confirmed that a lightweight bout between Danny Castillo and Edson Barboza has been scheduled for UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento.

Castillo is a Sacramento local, and is coming off of back to back decision wins against Paul Sass and Tim Means. He is currently 6-2 in his UFC career, and 16-5 overall.

Barboza has likewise picked up two wins in a row, a TKO over Rafaello Oliveira and a submission via punches over Lucas Martins. The hard hitting fighter is now 6-1 in the UFC, and 12-1 in his career.

UFC on FOX 9 will take place on December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. It will air live on FOX, with prelims on FOX Sports 1. The event will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between the new champion Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson.
