UFC Officially Announces Fight for the Troops Event Featuring Lyoto Machida vs. Tim Kennedy

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has officially announced UFC Fight For The Troops, a special three-hour live televised event airing Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. ET, on Fox Sports 1. The event will feature military personnel including active duty Army Green Beret Tim Kennedy, and armed forces veterans Liz Carmouche and Colton Smith. It will take place at Kentucky’s Fort Campbell for a crowd of thousands of military members.

The main event will feature Tim Kennedy taking on former light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida. If Kennedy can pull through, and possibly finish the former 205-pound champ in exciting fashion, then he will likely receive a huge boost in the rankings.

Also on the card is a women’s bout between Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis. Carmouche is a longtime veteran in the world of female MMA. She recently fought Ronda Rousey for the UFC women’s title, and last scored a second-round TKO of Jessica Andrade.

Alexis Davis is a firecracker with six wins in her past seven fights. Recently, Davis defeated Rosi Sexton by decision at UFC 161.

The full card is as follows:

Lyoto Machida vs Tim Kennedy
Liz Carmouche vs Alexis Davis
Jorge Masvidal vs Rustam Khabilov
James Krause vs Bobby Green
Lorenz Larkin vs Chris Camozzi
Nik Lentz vs Dennis Bermudez
George Roop vs Francisco Rivera
