Carlos Condit vs Matt Brown Set for UFC on Fox 9

A welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown has been confirmed for UFC on FOX 9. Both fighters are ranked among the division’s top 10, and a win here could easily mean a title shot for either of them.

Brown has picked up six straight wins since 2012, including victories over Mike Pyle, Mike Swick, and Luis Ramos. He is currently 18-11 in his MMA career, and is ranked at #9 in the welterweight division.

Condit is currently the division’s #2 fighter, despite accruing a 2-2 record in the past two years. His two losses come from champion Georges St-Pierre and top contender Johny Hendricks though, with a pair of wins over the top ranked Martin Kampmann and Nick Diaz.

UFC on FOX 9 will take place on December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. It will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Josh Thomson and the newly crowned Anthony Pettis.
