Scott Jorgensen Moves to Flyweight to Face Ian McCall

Former UFC bantamweight title contender Scott Jorgensen will be making a move to the flyweight division. UFC officials have confirmed that his first match up in the weight class will be Ian McCall, who he’ll face at UFC on Fox 9: Pettis vs Thomson.

Jorgensen was most recently defeated by Urijah Faber at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, bringing his UFC record to 3-3. He is currently 14-7 overall, and is still ranked at #7 in the bantamweight division.

McCall meanwhile has been a staple in the UFC’s flyweight division since the start. He recently bounced back from back to back losses with a win over Iliarde Santos at UFC 163, placing him at #3 in the weight class’s top ten. He is currently 1-2-1 in the UFC, and 12-4-1 overall.

UFC on Fox 9 will take place on December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. It will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson.

The current card is as follows:

• Anthony Pettis vs. Josh Thomson
• Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald
• Nik Lentz vs. Chad Mendes
• Scott Jorgensen vs. Ian McCall
