WSOF officials have confirmed that UFC vet Jon Fitch is set to meet Marcelo Alfaya at World Series of Fight 6: Burkman vs Carl.

Fitch was once one of the world’s top ranked welterweights, challenging GSP for the belt in 2008. Despite a loss there, he managed to go 5-0-1 in the division before being stopped by current title contender Johny Hendricks. He bounced back with a win over Erick Silva, then dropped a decision to Demian Maia. Following that loss, he was controversially cut from the UFC, despite holding a 14-4 record in the promotion.

In his post-UFC career, Fitch lost via submission to current WSOF title contender Josh Burkman in June. He is currently 24-6-1 overall.

Alfaya meanwhile is riding a three fight winning streak, last defeating Valdir Aruajo in just 25 seconds at CFA 9. He is currently 15-6.

WSOF 6 will take place on October 26 at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Florida. It will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Steve Carl and Josh Burkman, and will air live on NBC Sports Network.

The current card is as follows:
• Josh Burkman vs. Steve Carl
• Carson Beebe vs. Marlon Moraes
• Marcelo Alfaya vs. Jon Fitch
• Justin Gaethje vs. Dan Lauzon
