Jon Jones Dismisses Teixera as a Threat to His Title

In an interview with MMA fighting, Teixeira had this to say, “Jon Jones is at the top for a long time, can’t say enough about him, but I have to take this belt from him. Every phenom goes down one day.” Jon Jones responded with a quote of his own on twitter, stating, “I don’t mind people thinking I’m going to lose, just come at me with something logical.”

Clearly Jones does not feel that Teixeira is a threat to his reign as champion, but he might want to take Teixeira a little more seriously. Teixeira has demonstrated that he is a very capable fighter, most recently defeating Ryan Bader with an impressive first round TKO.

In his comments, Glover said, “I expect this to be a tough fight, but I believe Jones is more complete.” It would be a shock to many if Gustafsson gets the win, but it really shouldn’t be.  Gustafsson himself currently has 15 wins and only 1 loss. If “The Mauler” pulls out the underdog victory, it would definitely send shockwaves throughout the MMA community. Whatever happens, it’s sure to be an exciting fight.
