A heavyweight bout between Pat Barry and Soa Palelei is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night 33 card. UFC officials have confirmed that both fighters have verbally agreed to the match up.
Barry will be looking to recover from a first round TKO loss to Shawn Jordon at UFC 161. He’s had a rough career in the UFC so far, garnering a 5-6 record in the promotion. He’s a perpetual fan favorite though, having only gone to a decision once in his professional career. He is 8-6 overall.
Australian local Soa Palelei meanwhile is fairly fresh in the UFC. He is currently 1-1 in the promotion, losing his debut in 2007 against Eddie Sanchez. Six years later, he bounced back with a TKO win over Nikita Krylov. Palelei is currently 19-3 overall.
UFC Fight Night 33 will take place on December 7 (December 6 in the US) at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Australia. It will be headlined by a bout between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva, and will likely air on FOX Sports 1.
