Miguel Torres may have been recently arrested for marijuana possession, but World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo doesn’t believe this will derail Torres’s upcoming bout with Tyson Nam.
“As far as I know, Tyson definitely wants that fight,” Sefo said in a recent WSOF media call. “So that’s a good fight. We all make mistakes, and Miguel has obviously run into a situation, and we’ll support him. He’s still fighting for World Series of Fighting.”
Torres’s arrest canned an August match up between him and Nam that was set to take place at WSOF 4. He will appear in court next month for the marijuana possession misdemeanor charge.
Torres is currently 40-6 in his long MMA career. After a two year stint in the UFC, he is a free agent again, most recently dropping a split decision to Marlon Moraes at WSOF 1.
