Ryan Couture has certainly been giving it his best shot, but the 6-3 lightweight has a long way to go before he lives up to his father’s legacy. He dropped his second straight fight in the UFC this past weekend, losing a unanimous decision to TUF vet Al Iaquinta in the prelims.
It’s certainly possible that with no wins in the promotion, Ryan Couture may be let go early. Even so, it seems that UFC president Dana White still likes the fighter.
“I like Ryan [Couture], he has lost two in a row, you know, we’ll see what happens,” said Dana White. “He is tough though, man. That kids got a chin, he didn’t get that chin from his old man.”
It seems just like Dana White to seed a compliment with another opportunity to take a shot at someone he doesn’t like. Still, it’s nice to know that White isn’t holding his bad blood with Randy Couture against his son.
Ryan Couture had a promising start in Strikeforce, going 6-1 in the promotion before moving to the UFC. It remains to be seen if a competitive career in MMA is in the cards for the young fighter.
